I’ve been recently thinking about the best Tv crossovers EVER. As many of you know, most crossovers are horrible(most Disney crossovers)… mainly because they try to force the story lines to merge when they have nothing to do with each other… But i’m here to talk about the ones that did over come the obstacles, and made an at least decent episode. The Simpsons Guy Now, here is a crossover people have been dying to see! The episode known as The Simpsons Guy brings two of the most beloved adult-cartoons, Family Guy and The Simpsons. In this crossover they bring on hilarious moments as two of the most iconic families in cartoons finally meet! Although, the story is pretty average, and the 2 types of humor clash… It is a great episode, full of funny moments, and i hope they try it again. Jimmy Timmy Power Hour ( 1-4) A crossover everyone expected. Yes, Jimmy and Timmy. These two hugely popular characters from Fairy Odd Parents, and Jimmy Neutron were nearly identical in character, except Jimmy was a mad scientist. They even have an almost exact name! In this crossover, i especial loved it, because instead of trying to combine both universes into clashing genres, they had both characters travel through each others universes, which was an amazing thing to see. It had a great story, great humor, everything perfect. 1.Flash vs Arrow A very deserving spot on this list is the recently released Flash vs Arrow. Every aspect about this crossover was amazing, from the story to the characters and action. The 2 different genres (Arrow’s dark and gritty while The flash is more light hearted) did not conflict like other crossovers, it worked almost perfectly. It had great action, and a perfect amount of drama. The chemistry between The Flash and Arrow was a great thing to see, the story showed just how similar, but different they really were. A near-perfect crossover.
All year round we pass through many holidays. And each year we see a few of our favorite shows come up with a festively themed episode for the holiday, such as thanksgiving! We are so close so thanksgiving so i wanna highlight my favorite Thanksgiving episodes i’ve seen or the ones i remember the most.
First off is South Park – Black Friday (3 Parts.)
In this/these episode(s), although not really Thanksgiving, it’s close enough, we see all of the kids from the town gather up. They are Role Playing as wizards and all fantasy creatures separated into two groups. These two groups were were fighting over which Hot new tech they should get on Black Friday. One group was Xbox One. The Other was Playstation 4, (Which Lost cause Playstation sucks). We see the craziness of black friday, and multiple battles to the death. This was a fun filled, awesome, and an interesting take on Thanksgiving specials. Clearly amazing!
Second on the list is Regular Show – The Thanksgiving Special
In this episode we see the park getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner, and like every other episode… Rigby and Mordecai ruin everything! As they try to fix everything before they get fired, they see this ad. A competition to win a turducken. Now…if you are confused, let me help you out. A turducken is a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed within a chicken. Yes a turducken, it is only born every million years and Mordecai and Rigby are set out to get it by winning a… SINGING COMPETITION! The rest just gets weirder like every Regular Show episode. It’s a fun watch, and also shows what happens when thanksgiving goes wrong!
Third is Family Guy – Turkey Guys
As we see in many shows, the main characters are on a quest to get a turkey for thanksgiving. In this case, it’s Brian and Peter, but what sets this apart from all the others is the journey after they got the turkey. We see Peter driving into a lake, taking a Sh$t on the bus, and just so much more. I also love this episode because not only is it about Peter and Brian but also about Stewie and Chris and stewie tries to convince Chris to become the man of the house. There we see many antics as well. Overall it’s a funny and interesting episode.
Clearly there are hundreds of other Thanksgiving episodes I can write about, but ill just keep it short. Happy Thanksgiving!
The greatest mistake in history. No its not potato chips. It isn’t chocolate chip cookies either. It’s The PowerPuff Girls! Yes, the PowerPuff girls! Now you might be asking “what the heck is a PowerPuff?” Well, im not quite sure, but what i do know is that it is one of the most beloved shows ever!
Enough guessing. The PowerPuff Girls are a group of elementary girls with super powers, out to save their city, who were made by accident. And no, not like that type of accident. Professor Utonium, a scientist who was out to make the perfect little girls. Using a mixture of sugar, spice, and everything nice he tried to make the girls but accidentally adds Chemical X. This chemical gives the three little girls unthinkable powers, and forever changes the life of everyone in the city.
The girls names were Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup. Born at around 5 years of age, they dont know how to control these powers and are very irresponsible. Professor Utonium agrees to take them under his care, and after that he is tasked with showing the kids the right path, and how to handle their powers. This is especially hard, considering they are only 5. In the show we see how they handled different situations, occasionally messed up, then fixed it, which is one of the reasons why its so great!
We see them handle criminals, huge monsters, and just daily life. One of my favorite cartoon villains Mojo Jojo, was the PowerPuff girls arch nemesis. He lived on a volcano at the edge of the city. What makes him so amazing was that he used to be Professor Utonium’s assistant until the Chemical X caused an explosion and mutated Mojo Jojo into a talking, crazy, criminal. He would stop at nothing to get rid of the PowerPuff Girls, mostly because I think he was jealous…But that’s none of my business.
The show had alot of funny and I guess “relatable” moments. Such as the episode were Professor Utonium finds a lovely lady. While the girls try to convince professor that she is a criminally insane psychopath, he would not listen to them. She then turns out to be just what the girls said. These episodes had me very interested because it was not all about them being heroes but dealing with daily lives such as convincing your “father” that his love mate is a cold blooded criminal.
Other shows I love are when the PowerPuff girls must go against there exact opposite, The RowdyRuff Boys. They must work as a team to finish off the three boys. This show brings back some good memories, and a good laugh. The show had a great sense of humor was over the top. I remember the commentator on each episode and how he would start and end the episode with laughter. These are just some of the reasons that make this a must watch show.
After a month, I have made about 7 episodes about our favorite childhood shows. Shows that made us laugh. Shows that scared us. And shows that were just disturbing… Here we are going to Recap!
1. Teen Titans- The show that captured the awesomeness of being in a superhero team! The best part was that they were teens! A group of superhero teens, from DC Comics, out saving jump city from some of the best villains in cartoons!!! Sounds great to me 😀
2. Courage The Cowardly Dog- The show unlike any other. Maybe a first of its kind, was a horrifying thrill ride for kids, maybe too horrifying at times but thats what made the show so great. It was different from other shows which were usually happy, and cheerful. It had elements of fear and humor. Amazing!
3. Codename: Kids Next Door- A secret organization of highly skilled kids set to get rid of the adults tormenting towards other kids by using crazy weapons, fighting crazy villains, and having secret bases around the world such as the moon. Yes, sounds amazing right.
4. Avatar: The Last Airbender- A world filled with 4 nations, where there are people known as benders, who can control elements of their nation. Each nation was kept at peace by one person. The Avatar. The only person able to bend all four elements. But when the Avatar gets lost for 100 years, the Fire Nation invades and tries to conquer the other nations. In this show we see the Avatars struggle trying to regain peace and stop the fire nation, but he’s only a kid.
5. Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends- Certainly one of the more creative shows, we see a world where Imaginary friends are real, and live amongst the humans. Following a kid named Mac we see a Fosters Home… For Imaginary Friends. Here, all Imaginary friends who were either outgrown or abandoned end up here. We see the crazy adventures of Mac trying to keep his Imaginary friend.
6. Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy- This show falls in the category of disturbing… Within this show we follow two kids, and there servent, the Grim Reaper. We see Grim and the kids go through crazy adventures with Grim’s powers, and the crazy world they live in. Most episodes end up in a really weird, funny way. But that’s what made it so great, the weirdness and craziness!
7. Ed, Edd n’ Eddy- In this show we follow a group of friends called the Eds, including a con-artist, an inventor, and another kid up in cloud 9. We see these kids go through out there neighborhood, plotting different schemes each episode on their neighbors, which end up in fun and hilarious moments. No matter what they do, it will always fail, and is one of the great aspects of the show.
Well, there you have it! All 7 episodes so far. For more information about these shows just scroll down my blog page, and you’ll find it! Cant wait for shows to do next!
In this cult classic, we see some of the most infamous kids in cartoon. Ed, Edd n Eddy. As a group of three boys, they live in a cul-de-sac where they do all there malicious deeds. In a quest to gain money, get presents, get popular, the three kids try to scam the fellow kids in their cul-de-sac. Not only trying, but failing every time!
Ed is the dumb one of the group, known for always messing up, but usually ends up in hilarious moments. Edd, also known as Double Dee, is the scientific groupie, and is always trying to invent new stuff. Although she is in the group with the other Eds, she usually goes against what Ed, and Eddy do, but she is always somehow brought back in. Finally Eddy, known as the con-artist, and selfish leader of the group. He is always plotting on how to con the kids in his suburban neighborhood, but usually ends up failing in a hilarious way.
With hundreds of attempts at conning kids, they end up as the loners of the cul-de-sac. But you must be asking, what do they want with that money? Well, Jaw Breakers of course! The best candy around, which only cost 25 cents! They’ve tried almost evrything to get money. Things such as a lemonade stand, car wash, to a totally insane attempt at making the biggest pancake ever and trapping the kids under the pancake. I mean…Who thinks of that?!?!?! Although almost every episode is about them trying to gain money, each new attempt is so unique and crazy it makes it interesting every time.
But dont get me wrong, the whole show isnt about trying to get kids money ( well kinda ), sometimes around some crazy things happen. Like when Ed wears a dinasour costume… You dont wanna be there when Ed is in a dinosour costume.
They also have to deal with every day life as kids. They have to deal with school, other kids, and “love”. Yes I said love. Now who might love these three insane, selfish, con-artist, deceiving kids? Well only the kanker sisters of course! Probably the only people worse than them.
They are a group of sisters, who live outside of the cul-de-sac in a trailer park. Their main purpose in the show is to cause chaos throughout the Eds. First off is Lee, The “Leader” of the sisters, and known for her very aggressive tone and very passionate love for Eddy. Secondly is Marie, known for being the smartest of the kanker’s, she is still much like her sister Lee, and has a love for Double Dee. Lastly is May, the dumb blonde of the bunch, which is not surprising because she’s in love with Ed. No wonder the Eds dont like them… They are some of the most abusive bullies around.
With amazing characters and amazing humor this show makes me remember about the shows from the 70’s and 80’s. Such a great show, with lots of different elements each episode, and many different schemes each time. Love it!
Although certainly one of the darker shows along with Courage the cowardly dog around the time, it had a mastered the technique of mixing both Humor and Darkness in the same show. At first glance, you can see the Grim Reaper, but its not what you may think.
In this show we see 2 kids named Billy and Mandy. Billy the irresponsible, immature, boy with thought to have the lowest IQ ever, and Mindy the crazed devilish child who is very arrogant and controlling. She is even feared by her parents! When billy wins a limbo contest he is awarded with the Grim Reaper to forever be his slave. Although Grim has a vast amount of powers, he is forever under control of Billy and Mandy.
This brings them through different events each episode from an evil invisible duck to a talking human sized spider who thinks Billy is his father. Although there is no main villain, we see occurring problems throughout the series. Such as the Chaos apple, Fred Fred Burger, even the Boogeyman. Most problems are cause by Billy and Mandy’s miss use of Grim’s power or Grim’s past coming back to haunt him.
Even though these characters might seem scary and evil for a kid, its pretty humorous at times, making it a perfect mix of both genres. Some are darker than others, and some are the other way around. For example, Fred Fred Burger. This character is just plain humorous. What ever he does, puts a smile on any ones face.
With hundreds of humorous moments, there is still a sense of tension. You never know what’s gonna happen. But one thing I know is that it will be very very crazy. For example, when grim changes billy grade from an F to an A for a grade, he changes fate and reality is thrown off balance, so they must go back in time to stop himself from helping billy. Doesn’t sound crazy? How about this? Just a normal day when billy, mandy, and grim are abducted by cheese addicted aliens from the moon… Maybe the episode where Grim, Billy, and Many have to save christmas, as Santa has been bitten by a vampire. To save santa they need o find the head vampire, which turns out to be Ms. clause. I know, crazy right?
At the end of the day, this is a great show and recommend it to all. With its A+ humor, and great episodes. It’s a nice mix of craziness, darkness and just plain humor.
In this series we see a world where imaginary friends live side by side with humans. Just imagine that! the story is set in an orphanage for the outgrown or abandoned imaginary friends where they stay until adopted by another child. In the Foster’s universe, imaginary friends become real as soon as children think them up! It can be anything from a crazy bird to a spanish talking monster. Once the children outgrow them, the friends move to Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
When Mac is forced to abandon Bloo, his imaginary friend, Mac makes a deal with the workers at Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends that they dont let Bloo get adopted as long as Mac visited daily. The episodes in the series are mainly about the crazy adventures Bloo, Mac, and all the other Imaginary Friends go through each day.
For me most episodes ended up being like a cat and mouse chase. Maybe its just me, but i still loved it! The level of weirdness was always the funniest part. Such as the character named Cheese. One of the most insane characters I’ve seen in a cartoon show ( Beside Fred Fred Burger which you’ll see in a later post ). His lack of knowledge was hilarious, as he always ended up making awkward but funny situations. Here’s a picture of him…
This picture brings me to a new point. The art style! In this show we saw a very popular trend of art style in shows which is the art style much like samurai jack and the Flintstones. The art style makes it more interesting and appealing to look at (IMO) which most cartoons lack today. It blended right in with the show as it wasn’t in need of 100000 frames per second like action shows do. This show was more drama-based then an action but it had some of its intense action.
The show, I feel, was built around drama. From brothers to evil imaginary friends, each had their own drama to add to the amount already in the show. My favorite episode being one of the most tensed moments, filled with drama of-course, the episode where Bloo is about to be adopted by a crazed 9 year-old (i think 9). Mac and Bloo try to find a way to get the crazed girl away, and what you get is a beautifully developed episode, making you cringe at the end of your seat. This show was a lot of fun to watch, and had characters and jokes I still remember today. Totally recommend.
